I live in Huntington Beach with my mom (Mairead) and our dog, Marley ( a yellow lab) and our cat Mittens (orange tabby). My dad, Chuck Murphy lives in Costa Rica. I can ride my bike to the beach but I drive. My favorite place to eat breakfast is at SUGAR SHACK on Main St. Everybody eats there when they're in town. Michele is like a 2nd mom to all the groms from 10-60! I hang out with my friends and mostly surf when I have free time. The guys that get me stoked for surfing are (in no particular order) Quinn McCrystal, Andrew Doheny, Ford Archbold, Brian Vanarsdalen, Jeff Andrews, Christain Saenz, Colton Larson, Eddie Elles, matt McMullen and there's got to be at least a couple more. I'm stoked to be living so close to the water and having the opportunity to surf, compete, travel and do what I love to do on a daily basis!
How I got started
I started at a young age and basicly fell in love with the sport.
Started competing at about 10/11 in NSSA contests... did pretty good that year, won West Coast Champ and got 4th at Nationals Finals.
That fueled my desire to continue competing. I have traveled a lot because of surfing and feel fortunate to have had these opportunities.
